We are pleased to announce that our employment facilitator, Tara Thom Burnett, has received accreditation as a Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) by the British Columbia Career Development Association (BCCDA).

The CCDP designation is a recognized trademark that communicates credibility, a high level of professionalism, and ethical standards, as well as a commitment to continuous professional development. The CCDP certification requires that career practitioners complete at least 25 hours of professional development each year to maintain their certification.

In order to receive this certification, applicants must demonstrate competency in each of the four areas as outlined in the Canadian Standards and Guidelines for Career Development Practitioners: professional behaviour, interpersonal competence, career development knowledge, and needs assessment. In addition, each CCDP candidate must demonstrate capability in three out of six of the designated areas of specialization (assessment, facilitated individual and group learning, career counselling, information and resources management, work development, and community capacity building).

Tara’s top three specializations in assessment, career counselling, and facilitated individual and group learning equip her well for her role as an employment facilitator at Make A Change Canada. Participants of our online Business Abilities program benefit from the most widely used professional assessment tools, engaging job search webinars, sound career advice, and access to the most current labour market information available in Canada.

BCCDA is a nonprofit professional association whose mission is to advance the practice and professionalism of career practitioners in B.C. and to promote the highest quality of career development service to the public. For more information about BCCDA or the CCDP certification, visit bccda.org.

Congratulations to Tara on her professional achievement!
